Marie-Louise Wordsworth

Marie Louise Wordsworth has demonstrated her passion for collection and preservation of Western Australian history over the years as owner and organiser of the Wordsworth Art & Records Collection of Pre-Colonial and colonial Western Australia, and preserver of such historic buildings as Dempster Homestead, Esperance; E B Johnston House at 259 Adelaide Terrace, Perth and the Captain Stirling Hotel, Nedlands.

A Justice of the Peace and Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia for many years, Marie Louise also served as Councillor of the City of Perth from May 1992 to December 1993 when council was dissolved.

As wife of pastoralist and Member of the Legislative Council David Wordsworth, Marie Louise was involved with the early development of Esperance and in many community organisations.

Marie Louise was also very active in the Liberal Party over a number of years, and was the first woman elected President of the University Liberal Club, first woman State President of the Young Liberal Movement and President of the State Womens' Council, Member of the State Council and State Executive.
